About Me

I'm an award winning children's illustrator and writer. Originally I'm from Yorkshire, UK - now I hangout in Maine US. When I was a kid, drawing and horses were my escape. I loved to walk and ride on the beautiful Yorkshire coast. When I left school, I attended art college in York and Sunderland, UK. Then I joined the Royal Navy and learned to be a graphic designer. After I left the Navy I ran a printing business. Now I'm doing what I have always dreamed of - illustrating and writing children's books. I love the work of E.H. Shepherd, Quentin Blake, Ronald Searle, John Tenniel, Thelwell, Giles and the pre-raphaelites. All English influences!
